1. Water Pump Classification and Assembly Requirement Differences

 

As core general machinery for fluid conveyance, water pumps are divided into three categories according to application scenarios and performance requirements. The structural characteristics and sealing requirements of different categories directly determine the process configuration logic of the Water Pump Assembly Line:

 

  • Civil Pumps: Covering domestic booster pumps and clean water pumps, mainly serving community water supply and agricultural irrigation scenarios, with a unit weight of 5-30kg and an annual demand of over 100 million units. The core assembly difficulty lies in the installation precision of mechanical seals and dynamic balance calibration of impellers, requiring the assembly line to have high capacity and stable consistency for mass production.
  • Industrial Pumps: Including chemical process pumps, sewage pumps and fire pumps, which need to withstand corrosive media and high-pressure working conditions (maximum pressure up to 10MPa). The core assembly difficulty lies in the sealing of flow-through components and coaxiality control of the pump body, requiring the assembly line to have high-precision positioning capability to meet strict industrial reliability standards.

2. Core Conveying System of Water Pump Assembly Line (Double-speed Chain)

 

This series of Water Pump Assembly Lines adopts a double-speed chain conveyor​ as the core ground conveying carrier, specially designed for the precision assembly of small and medium-sized water pumps (such as domestic clean water pumps and small submersible pumps):

 

The double-speed chain uses a 3x speed roller chain for transmission. The tooling pallet runs smoothly with a workstation positioning accuracy of ±0.5mm and an operating vibration amplitude of ≤0.03mm, avoiding assembly deviation caused by the shaking of precision components during the impeller and pump shaft marriage (coaxiality requirement ≤0.02mm). The line body adopts an accumulation design: the tooling pallet carries semi-finished products such as pump bodies and control panels, transferring linearly along the guide rail. When the pallet reaches the corresponding workstation, the photoelectric sensor triggers a stopper to stop the pallet automatically, allowing workers to complete precision assembly in a static environment.

The tooling pallet adopts a customized design, with dedicated positioning grooves designed according to the pump body size (such as DN50, DN100 specifications) to ensure the pump body does not shake or shift during transportation. The line running speed can be adjusted via variable frequency within the range of 0.8-3m/min, flexibly matching the operation rhythm of different assembly workstations (e.g., it takes 3 minutes to install seals for each water pump), realizing balanced takt time of the whole line. Compared with conveying solutions such as plate chains and roller conveyors, the high-precision and low-vibration characteristics of the double-speed chain make it more suitable for the precision assembly requirements of water pumps, making it the mainstream choice for mass production lines of small and medium-sized water pumps.

 

3. Core Process Flow of Water Pump Assembly Line

  3. Mechanical Seal Installation: Complete the assembly of mechanical seal components in a constant temperature and humidity environment, ensuring the sealing surface fit rate ≥95% with no leakage risk.
  4. Pump Body and Motor Marriage: Accurately dock the pump body with the drive motor, complete bolt tightening with a torque error ≤±2%, and upload all data for 100% traceability.
  5. Performance Testing: Complete 12 testing items sequentially, including pressure resistance testing (maximum test pressure is 1.5 times the rated pressure), flow-head curve testing, sealing performance testing, and insulation resistance testing, with unqualified products rejected in real time.
  6. Finished Product Packaging and Off-line: Qualified pump bodies are protected with packaging, labeled, palletized, and transferred to the finished product warehouse.
